Privacy & Cookies Policy
The plain-language version: I only use the details you give me to reply to you,
I don’t track you around the web, and you can ask me to delete your data any time.
Last updated: September 2026
1. Who is responsible for your data (the controller)
The controller of your personal data is Hanna Szpil-Backer, running
“Pierogi with Hanna”, based in Kraków, Poland
(Wielkanocna 4F, 30-376 Kraków, tax ID / NIP 6772338593, where applicable). You can reach me any time at
hello@pierogiwithhanna.pl. In this policy, “I” and “we”
mean this business, and “you” means you, the visitor.
2. What data I collect
- Contact form: when you write to me, I receive your name, e-mail address and the content of your message.
- Anonymous website statistics: basic, aggregated information about how the site is used (see the Cookies section) — not linked to you as a person.
- There are no user accounts, and I don’t ask for more than I need. I don’t knowingly collect data from children.
3. Why I use it, and the legal basis (GDPR / RODO)
I use the details you send only to reply to you and to arrange a class.
- Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR — to take steps at your request before and around arranging a class.
- Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR — my legitimate interest in answering enquiries and running a secure, working website (including anonymous statistics).
- Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR — your consent, if you ever choose to sign up for anything optional. I don’t add you to any marketing list without it.
4. Who I share it with
To run a small site I rely on a few trusted providers, each acting under their own privacy terms:
- Web3Forms — delivers the contact form to my inbox.
- seohost.pl — hosts the website.
- Google (Google Maps) — the embedded map; Google may process data under its own privacy policy.
- Google (Google Analytics) — see the Cookies section.
- Booking platforms (such as Airbnb or Eataway) — only when you choose to book through them; your booking is then governed by their terms and privacy policies.
I do not sell your data. Some providers may process data outside the European Economic
Area under appropriate safeguards (such as the European Commission’s standard
contractual clauses).
5. How long I keep it
I keep enquiry e-mails only as long as needed to help you and for a reasonable period
afterwards, then delete them. Website statistics are kept in anonymous, aggregated form only.
6. Your rights
Under the GDPR (RODO) you have the right to: access your data; correct it; have it erased;
restrict or object to how it’s used; receive it in a portable form; and withdraw consent
at any time where processing is based on consent. To use any of these, just e-mail
hello@pierogiwithhanna.pl and I’ll sort it out.
You also have the right to complain to the supervisory authority. In Poland this is the
President of the Personal Data Protection Office:
Prezes Urzędu Ochrony Danych Osobowych (UODO)
ul. Stawki 2, 00-193 Warszawa, Poland
uodo.gov.pl
7. Cookies & similar technologies
Short version: this site uses no advertising or cross-site
tracking cookies, so there’s no cookie pop-up. I don’t build a profile of you or
follow you around the internet.
- Necessary / functional. The site may use your browser’s temporary
session storage to note, anonymously, roughly how you arrived (for example
“Google” or “Facebook”) so I can understand what’s working.
This is not linked to your name, e-mail or message, and it clears when you close the tab.
- Map. The embedded Google Map may set its own cookies when it loads, under
Google’s privacy policy, which is outside my control.
- Analytics. I use Google Analytics, which sets cookies to measure how the site is used.
- Managing cookies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings
at any time; the site will still work.
8. Changes to this policy
If how I run the site or handle your data changes, I’ll update this page and change the
“last updated” date above.
9. Contact
Any questions about your data? I’d rather you just ask:
hello@pierogiwithhanna.pl.
